Gather at Warren Farm in stunning Savernake Forest for a cup of coffee, then join David Homer, one of Britain's leading dairy farmers with a lifelong passion for sustainable farming, on a walk as he talks about the soil and the earth, the essential lynchpin of agriculture and food production.
As you arrive back at The Black Barn at Warren Farm, long tables will be prepared for the ultimate sustainable, locally sourced rustic dining experience from Michelin-starred local chef James Graham. Starting with sharing charcuterie boards of local cured trout, air dried meats, breads, muhammara, hummus, country pork pate and pickles, you will move on to a delicious rich game casserole made from locally-sourced Ramsbury Estate meats, served with mash and seasonal vegetables. Finally, you will finish with the famous Milk Yard ice cream, made from David's own cows' milk. Vegetarian and vegan options are available; please specify when booking.
Between courses, you will listen to live nature-inspired folk music, featuring traditional melodies with a modern twist. This truly is a feast for all senses, rooted in the natural landscape around you.

David Homer
The Homer farming partnership was established in 1989 by David and Jane Homer when they moved to Wiltshire with the herd of cows David grew up with from Warwickshire, and now includes sons Chris and Geoff and daughter Anne. Over 30 years the family has grown the business to 2600 acres with 850 cows over three dairy farms and arable, including the famous Milk Yard shop.
In 2002 they received the Crown Estate Farmer of the Year award, were Gold Cup finalists in 2009, and won the Cream Award 2022 for Health and welfare - Lameness. David is a Nuffield Scholar, a past board member of MDC/DairyCo, University of Reading farms board and Director of Waitrose Dairy Farmers.
David leads regular talks for local schools, societies and groups of all ages.
